Privacy Policy

Tru-Trac Rollers (Pty) Ltd respects the privacy of every visitor and customer. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or contact us, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. The policy aligns with the South African Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Section 01

Who we are

Tru-Trac Rollers (Pty) Ltd is a South African manufacturer of engineered conveyor components for bulk-handling operations. We are the responsible party (POPIA) and the data controller (GDPR) for personal information collected through this website.

Our registered office is in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Operations and engineering are headquartered in Centurion, South Africa.

Section 02

What information we collect

We only collect what we need to respond to your enquiry, deliver a product or service, or run the operations of this website. We do not buy or scrape personal information from third parties.

Information you provide directly

When you complete any of our enquiry, assessment, RFQ, partner or download forms we collect the personal details you supply: name, role, company, work email, work phone number, country, the conveyor or operational context you describe, and any files you upload. We collect a consent record at the moment of submission.

Information collected automatically

When you browse the site we record technical information needed for the site to function: IP address (only for the duration of the request), browser type, the pages you visit, and timestamps. If you accept analytics cookies we also record aggregated usage information through Google Analytics 4 with IP-anonymisation enabled.

Information from third parties

Distributor and partner records may include information supplied by the distributor or partner themselves about their organisation and contacts. We treat that information with the same care as information you supply directly.

Section 03

How we use your information

We process personal information for the following purposes:

  • Responding to your enquiry, assessment request, quotation or partner application.
  • Specifying, supplying or supporting products and services you have engaged us for.
  • Routing your enquiry to the right Tru-Trac team or authorised distributor in your region.
  • Sending you operational communications related to a current engagement (e.g. commissioning, support, calibration scheduling).
  • Improving the quality of the website's technical content where you have accepted analytics cookies.
  • Meeting our legal, regulatory and accounting obligations.

Section 04

Our legal basis for processing

Under GDPR our legal bases are: performance of a contract (when you are an active customer, partner or distributor), legitimate interests (responding to a B2B enquiry you initiated), legal obligation (statutory record keeping), and explicit consent (analytics cookies).

Under POPIA

Our basis is similar: consent, contract performance, legitimate interests of the responsible party, and compliance with law. We do not process special-category personal information through this website.

Section 05

Cookies and analytics

This site uses a small number of cookies. Strictly-necessary cookies (consent state, locale preference) are set automatically; analytics cookies are only set if you accept them via the cookie banner. You can change your decision at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the page footer.

Analytics

When accepted, we use Google Analytics 4 with IP-anonymisation enabled. Analytics data is aggregated, retained for the period set in our GA4 property, and used only to understand which engineering content is useful to readers.

Advertising and tracking

We do not use advertising identifiers, cross-site tracking, retargeting pixels or fingerprinting.

Section 06

Who we share information with

We share personal information only where it is necessary to deliver the service you have requested, where you have explicitly consented, or where we are legally required to do so.

  • Authorised Tru-Trac distributors and partners in your region — only where your enquiry is best served locally, and only the fields needed to route the enquiry.
  • Service providers acting on our written instruction (e.g. email delivery, hosting, CRM, analytics). They process information on our behalf and may not use it for other purposes.
  • Professional advisers, auditors and regulators where required by law.

Section 07

International transfers

Tru-Trac operates in 80+ countries. Where personal information needs to be transferred outside South Africa or the EU/EEA for the purpose of routing your enquiry to the correct regional team or distributor, we ensure the recipient is subject to comparable protections through written agreements and applicable transfer mechanisms (standard contractual clauses or adequacy decisions).

Section 08

How long we keep your information

We retain personal information for as long as needed to satisfy the purpose for which it was collected, plus any retention period required by law. Enquiry records are typically retained for the duration of the commercial relationship plus the statutory record-keeping period. You can request earlier deletion subject to overriding legal requirements (see Section 09).

Section 09

Your rights

Under POPIA and GDPR you have the following rights over your personal information held by Tru-Trac:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Deletion — ask us to delete personal information where we no longer have a lawful basis to retain it.
  • Objection — object to our processing on grounds of legitimate interests.
  • Restriction — ask us to limit processing while a query is resolved.
  • Portability — receive a structured, machine-readable copy of information you supplied to us (GDPR only).
  • Withdrawal of consent — withdraw analytics consent at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the footer.
  • Complaint — lodge a complaint with the South African Information Regulator (POPIA) or your local supervisory authority (GDPR).

Section 10

Security

Tru-Trac uses reasonable organisational and technical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, misuse, unauthorised access, alteration and disclosure. These include access controls, encryption in transit, audit logging and supplier due diligence. No system is perfectly secure; if a personal-information breach occurs that is likely to result in harm, we will notify affected parties and the relevant regulator as required by law.

Section 11

Children

This is a business-to-business engineering website. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has supplied information through this site, please contact the Information Officer and we will delete it.

Section 12

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The 'last updated' date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last amended. Material changes will be flagged on the site.
