Dust Control & Skirting
Skirting & Sealing
Skirting and sealing systems contain material at the belt edge through the loading and transfer zone, reducing spillage and fugitive dust. Sealing works only when the belt is stable, supported and correctly loaded, so skirting is specified against belt support, skirt-board geometry, sealing pressure and access. Mounting clamps hold the seal securely while allowing adjustment and repeatable replacement.
Where it’s used
- 01Transfer points with recurring spillage, fines escape or cleaning burden
- 02Belt-edge contact requiring controlled, repeatable seal replacement
- 03Where fast adjustment, secure retention and maintenance access matter
- 04Retrofit of worn, inconsistent or hard-to-maintain sealing arrangements
What matters
- Positive belt-edge sealing to contain fines and spillage
- Skirt-board geometry controls where material and air try to escape
- Sealing pressure maintained without excessive belt or skirt wear
- Clamp systems hold the seal securely while enabling adjustment
- Specified with belt support and tracking, not as a rubber strip alone
